HAIR & MAKEUP
Hair for Jazz, Hip Hop, Contemporary, and Tap Classes:
Dancers with hair longer than shoulder length must wear a high ponytail. Dancers with hair shorter than shoulder length must wear a high, half-up ponytail. If your dancer's hair is too short for a ponytail or half up ponytail, it must be clipped away from the face with clips or bobby pins that blend with their hair color. All hair must be pulled away from the face (no loose strands). Bangs that are longer than eyebrows must be clipped back. We want to see your dancer's beautiful eyes!
Hair for Ballet Classes:
Hair should be worn in a high bun. (unless your high ponytail already resembles a high bun) "Donut Bun" pieces are an easy way to keep a bun in place and looking perfect. These are not required but helpful, especially for dancers with long hair. "Donut Bun" holders can be found at stores like Target, Dollar Tree, and Amazon. Click the following link for an easy-to-follow video tutorial. https://youtu.be/oyZfxOO_wcU
Makeup
Makeup for all dancers is optional but we highly recommend wearing it because it will enhance your dancer's features under the bright stage lights that wash out performer's faces.

Call time means in the theater, in costume, warmed up, and ready to dance on stage. Please allow time to find parking, find the theater, use the restroom, etc. We are running a very tight rehearsal schedule and cannot wait for anyone who is late, so please arrive on time!
Parking: The Theater has a small parking lot, so please prepare to find street parking.

Call times are tentative and subject to change. Please reserve the entire weekend. The dress rehearsal/recital should take priority over all other activities this weekend.
An adult must be present with each child during the entire rehearsal. Only one adult per child will be allowed at the rehearsal. No siblings/friends allowed.
DRESS REHEARSAL IS MANDATORY. Dress rehearsal should take priority over all other activities. We want every class to feel prepared for the recital, which means the entire class needs to be present for blocking/lighting. Each class is a team. When a team member is absent, it affects the entire class.
If your dancer DOES NOT have a costume change please arrive in costume.
If your dancer HAS a costume change please arrive wearing all black dance attire. Absolutely no street clothes allowed on stage.
Please plan ahead and pack lunch, water, snacks, a book, activities to keep little ones busy, a jacket or sweater, a blanket, etc. Also bring a change of comfy clothes. No eating in costumes!
You are responsible for helping your dancer change their costumes between dances. Changes need to be made quickly. The show does not wait for anyone.
Please label your dancers shoes and costumes with their first and last name. Remember, there will be 200 other dancers with the same shoes and costumes at the recital, and even the most unique names are sometimes shared by another dancer! :)
Teachers will not be dancing on stage with your dancer. Please be sure your dancer practices every day and attends every class between now and the recital unless they or anyone in your household is experiencing covid symptoms.
We will be doing a full show run through after we block and light all of the dances, so plan to be at the theater until 6pm. Parents, you are welcome to film during the full show run through! This is a great opportunity to film up close! (Also a chance to practice those costume changes!)
We will have a professional videographer filming the full show run through. If your dancer is not present, they will not be in the video.
